TATTOO WITH ME

A little about me

Everyone has a story. Whether it is told in the form of a tattoo, or worn in the creases of our faces, we are all beautiful living embodiments of the stories we tell ourselves.

Stories have always captured my imagination, as well as the many threads of narratives that we weave, and the sheer depth and breadth of the capacity of human expression. I originally explored this in a career as journalist and editor, which took me to as far-flung places as China, and closer to my roots in Britain.

More recently, in keeping with the rhythm of my own story, I moved Vienna for love. So when the opportunity to continue telling stories through the discipline of tattooing presented itself, I embraced it wholeheartedly.

I resonate with designs that incorporate symbolic themes and mimic organic movement to create a high-contrast visual impact and evoke a sense of ´timelessness´. While my tattooing career is in its fledgling phase, I take pride in putting my best foot forward, and aligning myself closely to the wishes of my clients to create something memorable.

In other artistic arenas of life, I work as a wood sculptor. It is through this medium that I enjoy exploring forms of juxtaposition, in meaning and from a visual point of view, to tell a vivacious story and leave an impact with each observation.

Another passion of mine is the study of Astrology, which is both a science and an art. It is my way of giving something back to the world and helping myself and others gain clarity and purpose.

Where do I tattoo?

I tattoo as an apprentice under the tutorage of Anna Idza - a brilliant artist of over 16 years experience in Brazil and Austria.

You can find me at Tatuarium, a welcoming and colourful studio located nearby Schonbrunn Palace.

My Design Philosophy

There’s an old adage that frequently gets whispered around the tattoo world that ‘Bold Will Hold’. And it’s not without reason that it gets passed around a lot; mostly because it tends to rings true. Creating work that has longevity forms the backbone of my tattooing work, and while I always put the client’s wishes first, it’s also important that the tattoo stands the test of time. After all, why take the time to create something beautiful if it’s going to disappear after a year. Bold outlines, strong contrast and thoughtful use of colour and shading are all integral to my designs. Of course, it has to be beautiful, too!
